| | | Britain's Favourite View Morning WABbers, I’ve just found this article about an upcoming ITV programme 'Britain's Favourite View' where celebs tell us their favourite views of Britain. Wanted, views on the best of Britain - Telegraph
So what are our favourite views of Britain? There are so many to choose from. I’m still trying to decide on mine. I expect mine will either be somewhere on the North Yorkshire moors or on the drive down the A82 from Inverness. I’m sure I’ll be able to decide on a view by the end of the day.

BWD | This will cause some discussion! I travelled the A82 to Inverness when I stayed at Fort William. Lovely views. But I also drove through Glencoe (also A82), beautiful views.
I'll sit this one out and think about it ( but research the WAB members suggestions for my future travels).

| | | Re: Britain's Favourite View There is no way I could pick out the best view in Britain as there are so many memorable places that are awe inspiring.
There was one place that used to get me though when I used to drive for a living and that was Sutton Bank, which is situated on the A170 near Thirsk in N Yorks. On a clear, sunny day, when you are driving from the Pickering end, your jaw drops due to the sheer beauty as the road appears to just drop away in front of you leaving a vast flat land, stretching for miles.
It really is awesome, plus that is quite some drop on that road and if my memory serves me right caravans are banned on it. Mind you the last time I drove on that road was 1989 so it might have changed, but I doubt it.

| | | Re: Britain's Favourite View I am sorry but I could not possibly answer that question.
There are just so many wonderful locations throughout our small country and on top of that due to our variable climate, seasons, light, etc., there are so many different views to be had of the same location.
Just take a look at some of the brilliant landscape photography books to see what I mean .... not mine, I haven't finished (started) it yet .
Two things I do know ....
(a) the view outside my flat window across the rooftops of Basildon in Essex does not qualify
(b) many of the locations that I visited on my annual trip to the Scottish Highlands and Islands in June most certainly would

| | | Re: Britain's Favourite View I don't see how it's possible to answer the question either, especially since I have come to realise in recent years just how much of this exceptional set of islands I still haven't seen yet - even though it is so relatively small. I'm trying hard to remedy that as soon as I can, but the list keeps growing. |
