| | | Re: Bristol Hi gary.
I used to live in Bristol, but it's 13 years since I left, and I wasn't into photography then, and my main interest is/was birds, so I can't give you a comprehensive answer, but a few suggestions for starters:
Avon Gorge peregrine watchpoint (on the Clifton side, if its still going).
Ashton Court (particularly the wildflower meadow at the top of the park).
Arno's Vale cemetery is overgrown and wild with a lot of wildlife.
South of Bristol, Chew Valley Lake is excellent birding, good views from the road, day permits give you access to hides overlooking the lake.
Nearby, Avon Wildlife Trust has a wonderful reserve at Folly Farm (joining AWT would also be a good idea, they have some excellent reserves).
North of Bristol, Slimbridge WWT.
Hope this helps

| | | Re: Bristol We discovered Cheddar Reservoir recently and had a lovely Sunday Morning there. On the reservoir itself there were ducks, grebes and a also few swans. There is also a wood next to the reservoir which certainly sounded very alive though we didn't actually investigate it yet .
