The Reference Section is undergoing some big developments at the moment and we're currently working on a new system to enable everyone to easily make changes to any page, without the need to login with a username or password
Whilst this sounds a bit scary, we are able to store every version of each page so that we can easily roll back to an earlier copy if someone has accidentally changed or deleted something.
The aim of the new system is to enable all visitors to easily add information wherever they find blank pages or missing pieces of info.
To add or edit content, users can simply click on the 'edit' button at the top of the page, make the changes, then click on the submit button at the bottom of the screen.
For example, if you click on the 'Trees' link in the menu on the page below and then select a tree from the list, click the 'edit' button to make changes and then click on the 'submit' button at the bottom to save the page.

To make it even easier, the following type of table will enable contributors to easily find gaps in pages that need to be completed within an entire section i.e. Trees.

Simply click on the common name of the tree in the left-hand column, then clikc on the edit button on the next page, make the changes, click the 'submit' button at bottom and the tree's page and table will be instantly updated.
We're hoping that the new system will see the reference section develop a lot more content by making it far easier for visitors to add/update wherever they can.
As always, we'd welcome any ideas or suggestions on the above. Have a play about with it and let us know what you think.
Cheers
Stuart
