Gallery Uploads

We've had a few problems with our image conversion software this afternoon, but we've now managed to fix the problem. If anyone has uploaded a picture to the gallery today and it hasn't appeared yet, please could you submit it again.

Hi,
There is also a problem with lost posts.
I received an email with a reply from Tragus, but it doesn't show on any image.

Sorry about this StuDH, but I still can't upload any images.
I'm trying but the screen freezes when I try to submit the image.
It always has taken a while in the past, but now it's not even getting to an error page, the whole things just times out and says cannot find server!.
I'll try once again, then I'll have to resort to 'beating' my computer

Edited to add... That's it the mallet is coming out to beat my computer to a pulp!!!!
I have just sat for the last half hour trying to post 1 picture and it will NOT work argggggh

Could it be the size of the images you are trying to upload?

Are you on a broadband connection or dialup? If it's the latter then it's usually quite common to find your connection drop in and out during big uploads/downloads that may be causing the problem.

Best bet is to only upload one image at a time, keep them under 150kb and keep your fingers crossed

You can also get download managers that are able to part-load files and then return later to load the rest. Not too sure if you can get for uploading, but it would definitely help if you can.

I'll have a look at some other options you can try, but there's nothing showing up at this end that looks like it should be causing a problem.

I thought about that wildone... so I made sure the images were slightly smaller, and still it won't work. Never mind, it's not the end of the world

Unfortunately I'm on dial~up, but although it's taken a while to load up the images, it normally still works. Maybe the damp is getting into my comp!!!!!
I've tried keeping the images small and only posting one at a time too.
Thanks for trying to locate the problem, but I think maybe it's something this end :crying:

With me the problem was the image size, i.e. the pixel size, NOT the file size that was the problem.
Try adjusting the image size to less than 1280 on the largest factor, the other should reduce automatically. This will help lower the overall file size as well so uploads should be quicker.
Hope you can fix it.

The easiest way to upload photos onto the web is to "Save for web". This option can be found in most picture editing software.

Thanks Helen for the tip, I will check it out on my computer and see if I have that facility. It would help if my software was any good!!!
