spell-checker, smilies &c ....

Someone (Boddie ?) pointed out in another thread (and enclosed a screen shot) pointing out that there is a spell-checker &c on the posting screen. Well, I don't have one - nor do I have a panel of 'smilies' down the side. My screen has nothing at the top or righthand sides but a line of smilies below ...... Where am I (or my computer) going wrong?

Using either 'post reply ' or 'quote' - where's the other option?

oh so when you post reply no advanced option? am I getting confused with gallery posts?

aaaahhhh looks at your user controls edit options and right at the bottom is miscellllllaneous controls - what does it say?

does it say standard editor

Yay! No it said basic editor - now I have 'standard' - seems a bit odd for the option with extras but here we go

I think it depends on your browser as I think it was boddie who pointed out , you can if you use I E get the spell checker in the right hand corner. ABC with a tic (not a loucetic a correction tic

)
But with firefox you don't get it I think that is what he said.

As Beryl says it depends on your browser In IE it should be where Boddie showed you Not in firefox though but if you have google bar it comes with a spell checker

Thanks all but Dorcas has solved this for me - you need to go into the USER CP tab and change the default settings. In my case nothing to do with the browser ... all is well and I can smily away all night - actually, I'm going to bed ......
