| | | John Hi Guys
I regret to inform you that after a successful days kite shooting we retired to a bed and breakfast where unfortunately John took a nasty tumble and has broken his eye socket and been left with heavy bruising to his knees, shoulder and elbow, having landed awkwardly and with his head taking much of the impact.
Having spent the night in casualty in Royal Shrewsbury we have now taken him to Walsgrave Hospital as he may need surgery to his eye, which has also been cut (on the eyelid), and has three butterfly stitches.
He is in reasonable spirits at present albeit very painful.
We are about to take his car back over to Cov and see how is at the hospital.
I will keep you informed of his progress throughout the day.
Cheers
Andrew |

| | | Re: John bloomin' heck Andrew, that sounds nasty. It's always remarkable how an emergency can arise out of nowhere when you least expect it. Give John our best wishes and tell him we'll be thinking about him. I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

| | | Re: John We have just picked him up and he has to go back to hospital in the week to see a maxillo facial surgeon, to assess whether or not the injury is likely to cause permanent disfigurement. He was cracking jokes but is still very painful and has a pocket full of pain killers.
He actually fell of a ledge, about 3 foot as he was unable to see the drop. So obviously he was expecting something solid on his next step but there was simply nothing there.
I will pass all your comments on to him |
