| | | Wildlife Trust Both Ann and myself were members of this worthwhile Trust however after a lot of thought we didnt think that a visit to Lanark and Dunkeld to see an empty osprey nest was value for money, albeit 'The Lowes' was a fantastic place...... In fact the visitor centre at Lanark was closed on our visit and is so well hidden with no signage is it any wonder they dont get the support....It may be that our friends down south have more opportunities and within driving distance .I didnt grudge the minimal fee but would like more opportunities to see bird life in my native Scotland with expert knowledge and advice. Does anyone else have a view or are we not looking in the right places......... |

| | | Re: Wildlife Trust The scotish wildlife trust has arround 100 reserves scattered across scotland which I would of thought constituted reasonable value for money - I tried to cut and paste a list for you but couldnt however this is the link for their website Scottish Wildlife Trust - Wildlife - Reserves which has both a list , location maps , and info sheets for each reserve.

| | | Re: Wildlife Trust Hi sorry to hear about your experience - I used to work for the RSPB and we worked a season from Easter to the end of September I think - just wondered if this was the case in Scotland. When did you go and see the Osprey nest as they pretty faithful so maybe one of the birds has died which would be a shame or maybe they bred earlier or were unsuccessful.
Signs do help though... |

| | | Re: Wildlife Trust Hello Mcleish,Wildlife Trust sites depend on volunteers and donations
both of which are usually in short supply not all have tea rooms as some
of the sites are too remote for a power supply it is a case of a flask and
a picnic.Study the info on the site to find out what is there and when
