Another one for the fix list...

Hi,

I just uploaded some photos and on the processing page I noticed that the thumbnails all looked a bit strange, like they were displayed using only 4 colours!?!

It seems this problem extends beyond the thumbnails. Two dragonfly shots from the last 24hrs, one by Fourwings and one by myself, are both looking decidedly worse for wear at full size.

We've managed to sort most of it out, appears to have been fault with the image handling software so we've swapped in for another and refreshed the images. Nearly all are showing properly now, but you're right, there are still one or two that are a bit Lucy in the Sky

Thumbs up

Phew, thats a relief, I was begining to think I was doing something wrong or my computer had got a problem, I had noticed the thumbnails & then I uploaded the two Dragon shots, I got a real shock when I saw what it had done to the Migrant Hawker photo - I suppose you could say it looks like modern art, you never know there might even be a market for it!!

I think the image sizes are the wrong way round. When I click on the larger size a window opens with a smaller image. Wildone

Hi Wildone,

Which browser are you using? In firefox, when you click on the pic it'll show you the larger image, but it's resized to fit in your browser (that's how firefox shows large images by default) and this pic may be smaller than the one you were viewing the gallery frame.

However, your cursor should show a magnifying glass with a plus sign in it. Click on the picture and it'll size up to full size and fall off the edges of your screen with slide bars added so you can view the whole pic.

Stuart

Stuart - the last image I posted on the Dragonflies gallery is still looking terrible , can it be fixed or would you like me to re-post it?

I think it would probably be quickest if you could upload it again, we've tried regenerating it but it doesn't seem to want to play

Cheers

Stuart

Hi Stuart, yet another for the fix list! The formating of pages 3 and 4 in the galleries seems awry. Also the link to 'unidentified' is not working. Have to put it in the search area to get those pages up. Wildone

Stuart, sorry to be a pain but I submitted 4 photos for the Dragonfly & insects gallery on Sunday & they have not appeared as yet, just wondering if they arrived ok or have the got lost somewhere out there?

I didn't want to re-send them and end up duplicating images already in the gallery.

Cheers,
Fourwings

Looks like we've got them and I've just posted them in the gallery, but to be honest I hadn't seen them today or yesterday so I've no ideas where they went

Anyway, better late than never. All pics should usually be up on the gallery within 24 hours, so feel free to get in touch again if they don't appear within a day or so.

Cheers

Stuart

Hi Stuart. All the thumbnails seem OK except for page 3 (61-90) in the Insects Gallery and page 3 (61-90) in the Gallery Search for Unidentified. The link is still not working so to get them it means going into search and typing unidentified. Wildone

Hi Wildone,

It looks as though some of the long title names for the images were forcing them over the column sizes. If the the title is made up of many individual words then it breaks the title down into news line, but a title like smallgreyandbrownbirdsittingonawall stays on one line and pushed everything over.

I can't see why the unidentified link isn't working at the moment, so I'll have pass it on to the techies to have a look at.

Thanks

Stuart
