Size of Galleries

Having just been through the Wildflower gallery and finding the scrolling a bind, I am wondering if some of the galleries might be better to be split. Certainly the Bird gallery is also becoming extremly large and that might be split as Water birds, (waders, ducks gulls etc.) and land birds (passerines, raptors etc.). Exactly how the Wildflowers could be split I leave to better brains than mine. Anyway just a thought.

Hi Wildone,

We're looking at ways of being able to place photos in multiple categories, so that species can be grouped by colour, family, habitat etc and appear in all of the different area at the same time. It's a major job, but it's one that we'd really like to get sorted fairly soon.

Until then, you can avoid scrolling by clicking on the '...images per page' link when viewing the thumbnails and choosing a smaller group of images i.e. 30 per page.

The Firefox Browser is also a great help when viewing the gallery as it holds recent page views in a cache so it doesn't have to reload the images every time you go back to a thumbnail page.

Certainly, with the birds, that sounds a good idea to split them into those catergories.
