It is to do with the number of posts you make. You started off as a New Member and now you are an Active Member. Get to 100 posts (forum or gallery) and you will go up in the world. 'Fraid I cannot remember them all off the top of my head.

100 is wild member
250 is member of wild empire
500 is officer of wild empire
1000 is comander of wild empire
and 5000 is a flippin lot of posts 
we are waiting for graham (GLsammy) to get to 10000 to see if there is owt above commander

Its quite usual for forums to have ranking systems based on the number of posts, but I never can see what purpose it serves. As a newcomer, perhaps I should say nothing, but then again... I know its all in fun, but your choice of words like Empire, Commander, Officer and Knight seem out of place on a wildlife forum. Why the quasi chivalric imperialism? Puts me off a bit. Hope I'm not offending but honest input should not offend. |

Not offended at all.
But I can't see the harm, this site is intended not only for information and education but also to be a fun place to be. I can't see what harm it does to have a fun title in relationship to the input you give.
I think it's more to remind everyone not to be too serious on here! |

Yes - I'm all for fun and don't want to take things too seriously at all. Perhaps the system will have changed by the time I have made 5000 posts. I don't want to be a Knight Commander of even a fun empire. Do we have to salute the officers and who commands what? |

Hi Hornbeam and a warm welcome, if rather belated.
Most of us, if not all, forget about our titles after the initial congratulations. As to saluting or further recognition by other members, forget it. It is just a bit of harmless fun and nobody thinks any the better or worse of you because you have reached one of the dizzy heights. Just enjoy WAB for the pleasure of being among like minded people.

Even I have got used to wearing this uniform when I have to make a post .... but I must admit to forgetting to stand up and salute the Moderators in the time-honoured Two-Fingered Salute from time to time ....
