Email Notifications

We've just added a new feature on the forum that emails you whenever someone replies to a thread that you've posted in.

If several people reply to the thread then you'll only be emailed once until you next read the thread. After that, another email will then be send out again if someone replies in the future and so on...sorry if that's as clear as mud.

Essentially, this new facililty should help you to be able to keep track on replies to your messages, especially if the message has slipped off the 'Latest Forum Topics' column before you next visit the forum pages.

If you'd rather switch off the feature altogether, just go to your control panel (User CP link at the top left of the forum pages) and choose 'Edit Options' from the 'Settings and Options' menu.

Once in there, simply choose 'Do not Subscribe' from the drop down menu in the 'Messaging & Notification' section and then click 'Save Changes' at the bottom of the page.

Any chance you could add this feature to work with comments on pictures? That would be very useful, in my mind (and from what I can see, not add a vast amount of traffic).

It's already in place, but we've had quite a few problems with email notification of photo comments over the last month or so. Some people are getting them, others are getting them but the link in the email doesn't take them to the right/any picture and others aren't getting them at all.

We thought we'd fixed it, but then the problems popped again last week so it's back to the drawing board
