| | | "Reviews" questions. For a currently non existant review.
1) Can BBcode or html code be used in Item description, ie underline or bold etc.
2) Some reviewers have put links to their galleries on pbase etc to show more relevent and useful pics. Is this permitted in Reviews?
3) Could anyone point me to the instructions for new reviews please.
4) Can we edit the reviews after posting
Thanks.
Denis.

Denis. | 1) sorry thought you were talking about pic there for a mo - no i dont think you can use html code in the item description - that said i might be wrong so you might as well try - the worst that can happen is that you'll need to edit it
2) I think not the no ext pictures rule is site wide - internal links to galleries here (as html links not img code) ought to be alright in reviews , in product uploads you can upload the pics directly to the reviews section
3) theyre arround somewhere but i cant remember where a search of the wab website forum would probably find them- or pm me if you have any other specific questions
4) yes - but i think for only a certain length of time like the forum - after that you need glsammy or stu (or me at the mo but probably not for much longer as i anticipate my review admin rights getting turned off now i've stepped down) to edit it for you.
I used to run the review pages but ive just stepped down as i dont feel i have the time they deserve- that said i'm willing to help out with general queries at least til someelse steps up so feel free to hit me up by pm if you get stuck
edit : actually re no 3 i cant find them - however rocket science it aint
so step by step
1) find the product you want to review assuming its there - if not you'll need to upload it first
2) open it
3) click on review this product (at the top right of the product box)
4) fill in the form which ought to be self explanatory - tho note that some categories have a score for customer service where it ought to read value for money - this is a bug and needs reporting to stu if you find one
5) when your happy with your review hit submit
6) job doodled
7) i think you have 15 mins to edit to deal with typos etc after wghich you need admin personages
NB: remember you are reviewing the product not the suplier you got it from - comercial plugs are likely to be erased.
8) any questions pm me (or stu/gl)

| | | Re: "Reviews" questions. OK eeyore, thanks for that.
Just gave it a try with the 393 head but I think it needs removing. I didn't realise that you had to do it twice, sorry!
Your comment re the external links is interesting, the yes for some and no to others again?
Denis.

Denis. | as far as i know its no for everyone but like i said i havent had time to moderate reviews for quite a while - if my admin rights are still up i'll look at your 393 in a mo
send stu/gl links for the ext link reviews and if they think they're unwarranted they'll bin them if they dont they wont - and imo its not a personal thing - the same applies to you - dont link externally without good reason and dont make a habit of it , is the general gist.

| | | Re: "Reviews" questions. denis your 393 review is sorted - ive cut and paste the review bit into a review under my user name ( I can't post as you)
if you go back in open my review and copy it to the clipboard then click on review this product and paste it into a review under your name , then tommorow i'll go back and delete mine
I'll pm stu and ask him to leave my review admin permissions on for the mo.

| | | Re: "Reviews" questions. I wouldn't report any post using links eeyore as I am one of the biggest believers in their use, as long as they are relevent. No I have no objection to links whatsoever as long as they use the _blank setting, otherwise I get hoplelessly lost sometimes
Denis.

| | | Re: "Reviews" questions. my understanding of the no ext pic thing is that its not intended to be draconian - in the forum its because external pics get moved/deleted (and in one or two cases replaced with porn by hackers) outside admins control. leading to lots of broken links which harms both the google rate and the site experience for members /guests.
In the reviews its not so critical as its a much smaller section and easier to moderate - like i said dont make a habit of it but if you have a good reason and its not excessive theres a good chance it will stay up - if it doesnt or is then it won't regardless of who the OP is
if theres a specific reason to post externally linked pics in the forum (like with lord vs focuss stacked pics which were a funny format which wab couldnt take) pm a mod or stu and ask first. Likewise in the review section let me, stu, or glsammy know what and why before you do it and theres a better chance of them not getting deleted
edit : ive just pmed stu and asked him to leave my review admin settings on (these only apply in the review section i have none elsewhere) so i'll still be able to help out with reviews things even tho i'm stepping down as main man.
