oops, sorry, I didn't tick a box to switch it on for everyone else 
It should now be in your control panel > customise profile
click on the grey dotted boxes to choose basic colours or enter a hex code (i.e #ff9900) in the relevant box to choose from millions of colours

Well I have managed to customized my profile after umming and aahing over what colours to pick.
I have even put a profile picture on-I am the one on the left by the way!!!

Oh me oh my - this is going to be fun - I've been having alook around and realise that not only do I have the threads to keep an eye on but conversations and communications can come to your profile now too ......... and the husband was considering divorce before with just me, the threads and the gallery - best not tell him about this whole new world of wonder then....
