| | | Please help Im still having problems with my pictures.
I uploaded 3 pictures yesterday into the image archive, prior to that i had 27 stored in there. When i go to click on my image's im still only seeing 27 rather then the 30.
Now i have found the other 3 but to get to them i have to click on one of the other 27 pictures and then scroll down to the little box under my post count. When i click that i get redirected back to my image archive but instead of 27 it will now be showing 30 - i have to do this every time. To add to this i have just uploaded 6 new better quality pictures to the image archive and i cant seem to be able to find them.
Why is this happening and when or how will the problem be sorted.
Please help. |

To refresh, press Ctrl + R. |

| | | Re: Please help additionally it is sometimes necessary to do a hard refresh - which involves holding down f5 (i think) while refreshing the page.
btw - i just had a look and you are showing 36 images in the image archive plus 2 in the gallery - thus if you cant see them while i can it indicates that the prob most likely must be at your end rather than on the site server

The issue is not with the site but your own local browser settings.
It all depends on your operating system and browser. I would suggest doing a search on how do I configure my browser … indicating browser and OS.

John | Well all i can say is im a member of and regualy use 5 other forums and never get these issues. Maybe your right and i have to configuer my browser settings but im not willing to do that for one forum, as this in turn will mess with the other 5 and no doubt the countess number of website's i use - perticualy the ones with live data.
Im not trying to step on any toes here so i will just manualy refresh the page myself when need be and ignore the box that from time to time say's i have 5 messages - though when i do encounter other problems be sure that i will be asking for advice on how to go about it. |

| | | Re: Please help the need to manually refresh pages tends to be a isp issue - it is much more common for exaple for users of aol than for some other isps - i very rarely need to do so (i'm on tesconet) tho it is good computing practice to hard refresh, and clear cookies, temp files etc on a regular basis anyway.
configuring your browser settings to regularly refresh will (or at least should) have no deleterious effects on the use of any websites - in fact it ought to improve the page load rate etc on all sites
also if any negative effects were experienced you could simply click on the option to restore default settings.

| | | Re: Please help You need to look at Page reloading:
This basically tells your browser to use a copy of a web page in your computer's cache if it is not older than the maximum age specified by the server. Typically a browser will use a cached page throughout a browser session, unless marked with HTML that specifies a reload after a preset time.
This is useful in respect to static pages in terms of speed but in the case of dynamic pages ... i.e. WAB you may need to change the default setting.
i.e.
Explorer: Tools / Internet Options / General / Temporary Internet Files / Settings / Every time you start Internet Explorer.
Firefox: Automatic setting.

It already is set to do that, new versions of stored pages are automaticaly done and it always has been. Im guessing thats why every other website/ forum etc that i use doesn't have this problem, and as i suspected it is this web page and its own settings that are the problem. Though eeyore has pointed out that some isp have issues and he mentioned AOL who are my isp, though still its never been a problem in past.
Maybe its just that this website and its settings are not completely compatable with AOL and thats why there are some problems on my end with this website. Though i am sceptical as others have said that they too have to manualy refresh the page from time to time. What should be noted is that the refreshing of the page is a problem with the galleries on this website, because i dont have to refresh them when in the actual forum part or indeed anywere else... just with the pictures. |

I guess im just going to have to manualy refresh the page each time from now on. |

this shows that such conflicts are not limited to wab , and are thus out of our admin teams control
whilst we know that wab isnt perfect it is startling how many of the people who have issues with the site - particularly with the new gallery software - are using Aol.
I'm fairly sure that short of changing isp there isnt much you can do either , except as you say continue to refresh manually.
