After adding the
recent gallery guidelines, the standard of photos has just been getting better and better, and every day we continue to get lots outstanding photographs of British wildlife. As a result, we're about to do a bit of spring-cleaning to make sure that the earlier uploads are of a similarly high standard and ensure that everything is looking its best.
Having had a quick flick through the older images, it looks as though there may be a few that we'll need to take down (including many of my own

), because they're a bit out-of-focus, too small, too dark or pixelated etc. However, if you notice that any of your pics are no longer visible on the gallery, don't worry, we'll still have them in a storage area for the next couple of months.
Once they're in there we'll try and edit them to be a bit sharper and brighter, and then we'll post them back into the gallery again, if they can be seen clearly on the various monitors that we use to test the site.
In the meantime, we're sorry if the spring-clean causes any inconvenience, but we hope you'll agree that it should be worth it, as we continue to build the very best British wildlife gallery on the Internet
Obviously, none of the above will affect the rest of the gallery, so please do keep sending in your pictures.
Cheers
