Stupid Forum

I have never been so frustrated by such a complicated Forum with so many little things everywhere which are probably what makes it so possible to get lost. I have followed all your advice on how to put my pictures in the specific archive to then copy to my posting enquiry, having obtained two advised softwares to do this. Copied the first of four pictures from archive unidentified, clicked the return arrow to return to my crafted description of the tree - and it had gone. Well if you can be bothered to look at the pictures they are under AMR 1, AMR 2, AMR 3, AMR 4.
I have been losing a lot of sleep, determined not to allow your over annotated forum to beat me, but it has. I shall stick to the plain question and answer forums I have known.

Re: Stupid Forum

I agree, it is quite a complicated site to navigate around. I too get lost and have not been able to fathom out how to add my photos. It could be a bit more user friendly and I think you do need to persevere with it for a while and make many mistakes, putting forums in the wrong place, etc. stick with it though, they are a very nice group and so friendly.

Re: Stupid Forum

Hi rosbullterrier.

I don't have an office & I don't use a computer at work.

Is this them?

They were in the 'Forum Images' in the Image Archive.

I just copied the Forum Code at the bottom of your pics & then pasted them onto this post.

Don't know what your bush is though.

Re: Stupid Forum

Well you certainly know how to make friends and get on with the Forum.
I was going to offer some simple further advice, but as your not coming here again, I'm not sure why I'm even bothering to reply.

Re: Stupid Forum

The instructions for putting photos in forums are pretty straight forward really but must admit that maybe a 1-2-3 dummy guide would help those who are not so computer literate..

But as someone else mentioned stamping your feet and shouting probably wont get you a lot of help..

Good luck in finding a better wildlife forum.. You will probably need it

Take care

Peter

Re: Stupid Forum

Re: Stupid Forum

You could try writing the reply, to which you wish to add photos, in the ' Go Advanced' reply section, then your post will not dissapear.

Re: Stupid Forum

Well you'll be hard pushed to find a better forum, so its well worth sticking with this one! Drove me batty to begin with figuring how to post images too....

As to your plant, its definitely an Olearia, but I'm not so sure of the species. Possibly Olearia avicenniifolia or Olearia traversii...

The link below will show you images and information on Olearias:

Re: Stupid Forum

Rosbullterrier, if you could let us know exactly what's going wrong, then we'll do our best to put it right. We've got lots of instructions in the info section, but it's always helpful to get some ideas and suggestions on how we could do it better.

Stu

I've lost many hours sleep worrying about something or other. I'm just a born worrier!
Especially when the site is attacked in this kind of way when I know the lengths Stu has gone to to make it a friendly and approachable site.

Are but you guys and gals are different because of the time you put in to getting and keeping this fantastic sight open for us to use and enjoy. My comment was aimed at "normal" users.

Re: Stupid Forum

I dont know why you are throwing a wobbly for I have seen more complicated forums on the net this site cannot be more simple if you follow the instructions,to me it smells of sour grapes just because you want something really simple as A B C if other people who are not as computer savvy as some can manage I dont know what you are doing wrong ,I have a memory problem after a operation and I can manage it takes a bit longer but I get there in the end it just takes time.
Dont give up and persevere you will not find another site like this where people will try their best to help you out

Re: Stupid Forum

As another newbie here I would have to say that so far I have had no issues navigating the forums at all and although I haven’t uploaded any pictures yet, the step by step guide makes it look simple enough for even me to follow.(Photography hobby on the horizon me thinks)

It also makes a change to find a forum where not only are the people helpful to each other but also one where it is not just a load of people arguing over there own personal views about a subject, although I am sure that given the nature of the topics here (no pun intended) this can happen at times.

All in all my first impression has been that this is a friendly well put together useful resource.... nuff said.

David

Re: Stupid Forum

Oh dear. That's a shame. And we are such an easy going, friendly bunch here! Hmm. I cannot see what's so complicated about this forum myself...

Ok, I have yet to try uploading piccies - maybe then I'll need help! But quite honestly, this is no different from many other forums I have belonged to. If anything, it is more easily navigated *because* of the many sub-divisions.

Horses for courses I suppose.

"Stupid forum" .... that's not the WAB that I recognise.

This sort of post hardly wins friends and there are plenty of friends here who are always willing to advise and assist if the need arises.
