The isle of Canna is one of the small Isles off the West Coast of Scotland, you can learn more about the island by Typing WEST WORD, SCOTLAND in a google search.

I would like to plan a Trip to Canna, try and get some good photos, ask one of the fishermen to take us out on his boat to photograph any sealife.

Setting off in June, before the midges arrive, travelling from Oban to Mallaig, catch the CalMac ferry across. Perhaps camp out if no accommodation is available, no cars unless you are resident, so bikes may be useful.

A week on Canna, may be a life changing experience, so

are you up for it???

A camping/photographic trip/Adventure to Canna to get some great photographs.

My home is on the isle of Coll, Inner Hebrides, and I am just developing my photographic skills and have made an album of Coll in my AOL pictures, if you would like to get a flavour of these islands.

I usually camp out on the island next door to Coll, which is Tiree. Basking Sharks arrive in the summer months, and you will always get a huge Hare lolloping past your tent. Corncrakes can keep you awake however, with their persistence raspy calling!!

It probably won't be 5*, maybe a bit rough and ready, but eh?? you only live once.

Going in May or June, all you need is a sense of adventure and your camera !!!

Sounds like a great adventure Squidgy and, if I was 30 years younger ......well, who knows, but my days of roughing it on such trips are over. Anyway, I wish you well with it and look forward to seeing some of your photographic results afterwards - just had a look at your photo site and some nice work there.

As it is, my wife and I will be up on the west coast (near Loch Linnhe) for 2 weeks at the end of May. We plan to visit Skye and Mull and I too am hoping for some great photographs - but with a little less adventure and certainly no roughing it

Thank you JeffH, maybe not roughing it so much if we can get some kindly B and B to take us in. But I always live by the Scouts' motto, Be Prepared !! Anyway, have a lovely holiday yourself. Best Wishes !
