Transferring images from the Archive to the Main Gallery

This may have already been asked and answered...but...

I have uploaded images to the new (unmoderated) Archive in the Unidentified Fungus section. The species has since been confidently identified by two forum members and I would like to transfer the pics to the main Gallery with appropriate changes to title.

Do I do as before - ie, send a message to the Moderators requesting a RENAME - or is there a new procedure?

Bruce

We're developing the system to do just that right now. Your image will I hope, shortly be in the new gallery, if all goes well!

Glad that was asked and answered as I had named one of my fungi photos wrong in the main Gallery.I reported it under other as that was the only option that fitted.Hope that was ok

Your image should now be in the main Fungi gallery Bruce. Let me know if there's anything wrong with it.

So in future, just do exactly as you did here, that is report the image from the unidentified and we'll transfer them over.
It's a bit of a long winded process, so anyone else please bare this in mind. It will probably take longer to do re-naming, so don't expect instant results!

Re: Transferring images from the Archive to the Main Gallery

Hi Graham,

The Silverleaf Fungus image is now showing in the New Gallery just fine - thanks.

However, I had to submit the request to RENAME from the Old (Original) Gallery using the drop-down menu option "Report to Moderators". So far I have been unable to find a way to request a RENAME from the new Archive, ie there doesn't appear to be an equivalent to the "Report to Moderators" facility in the New Archive.

This approach cannot of course be used with recent images loaded to the New Archive. I do fully appreciate that the new software is still being fine tuned.

Thanks again for your help.
Bruce

It shouldn't cause too many problems. Wen you load unidentified images, they go into the old archives Gallery, so the rename procedure will always be from that Gallery, not the new one. In theory, there should be no images that need renaming in the new one. (Some chance!)

Unless a silly moo like me puts one in that I actually named wrongly.Sorry Mods but there is a couple from me that do.I use picassa to rename my images and somehow(dont ask how, I highlighted 2 other fungi and gave all 4 the same name.)Blame it on senility
I used the report button which is not really very obvious you have to hover over some icons in the message area. You get a drop down list for why you are reporting it.I chose other as the other choices didnt fit.

Re: Transferring images from the Archive to the Main Gallery

I have just had some of my unidentified fungi renamed but at present they are still in the achive gallery under "unidentified fungi".

Will they be moved into the new gallery later or do I need to ask for them to be moved??

At the moment, the best way is to do a reported image post, just as before. We're scratching or heads trying to come up with a more elegant way of doing things, but so far this evening my brain has stopped working!
