| | | WAB Link Exchange Following on from this thread: External Links
I've just setup a new links section to let members post details about their sites and take comments on them from other members...as well as post reciprocal links back to Wild About Britain http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/links/
At the moment, the link section is only for non-commercial wildlife and environment-related websites, but we might expand it's scope in the future
In the next week or so I'll change the signatures so that members can only include a link if they've posted in the links section.

sorry if I'm nitpicking but it's a grey area, best to be clear right from the start .

T2 | Nope, sorry, just non-commercial sites at the moment. At the most we'll allow sites that carry a bit of advertising (not made for google sites etc), and won't include links if they site sells anything or have any areas that require paid subscription.
Later on we'll add more areas of the link section or develop the directory to include paid listings from commercial sites
Before I forget, I should also add that a site listed in the new links section must be 'primarily' a wildlife and environment site. So it's not enough for the site to be all about general photography with a bit about wildlife photography...the site should be mainly wildlife photography |

| | | Re: New Links Section I've just tried adding my website link AFTER putting the WAB Banner and link on the Links page of my site.
However when I submit it I get the follwing message
We could not find a link back to our site on the URL you have entered for the "Reciprocal Link URL" option. Please ensure that the link has already been added, and that it is pointing to "http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk"
Any ideas Stuart

Please ensure that the link has already been added, and that it is pointing to "http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk" | At a guess I think it's because your link page is ....Links Page.html and it doesn't like the blank in the URL. It should be ...links_page.html or ...links-page.html
The automatic link checker looks at the page and the link in a similar way to a search engine and so if the link checker can't see it then a search engine probably can't see it either.

| | | Re: New Links Section I run the education at an independent education centre in west dorset, i have placed a link to here for sometime now on our website. I tried to add our site to a directory section linked to this site and that didnt work, i didnt seem to be able to select a section in which to place our business.
I assume we cannot add to here as we are commercial, we sell courses, despite being a charity. I have tried to add and it says it cannot find a reciprocal link which is there and does work. so i dont know if this enquiry is in vain or not but any advice as to why it cannot find your link on our website? |
