WAB link banner

Does WAB have an official link banner / graphic that can be used to promote WAB on external websites?

I already have added a text link to WAB on the links page on my website, but would be more than happy to include a graphic link on the home page of my site to WAB to help promote WAB - not that WAB would be unindated with visitors as a result but you never know my one visitor may click it .

We generally use the herader at the top of the page - Stu abandoned the green UJ after the countryside alliance started using it.

You could lift the banner off with right button click and set up your own graphic link but stu may well have one already set up somewhere - best bet is to pm him (full username stuartDH)

Re: WAB link banner

just a thought stu - but maybe you (or chas, or someone else) could explain in simple terms how people use the banner jpeg to create a graphic link on their webpages.

I know how i would do it but i'm not sure i have the skills to be doing it the best way or to explain it to the masses

Re: WAB link banner

Hi eeyore,

I am not sure that I am really the best person really to explain the way to do it either.

My method is simply to edit the image within an image editor (in my case gimp) to the size I want the banner image to be on my website i.e. 300 pixels wide. I then upload that image onto the site and position it. Finally I edit the html to make the image clickable and so that once clicked the image takes you to in this case WAB.

So the html would look something like: (Obviously it would be preceded by (<p><a ) and end with (/></a>) but if I include these it will not display as text but will try to act as html). Here href determins what will happen when the image is clicked - i.e. directing the browser to WAB and src is the location of the graphic on your web site - in this case a WAB banner image. Square bracketed areas [ ] would be the the destination i.e. WAB and the source of the image on your site i.e. the WAB graphic (and the square brackets [ ] would not be included in the html.

href="http://www.[wildaboutbritain.co.uk]"><img title="WAB" height="20" alt="About" src="http://www.[yoursite/imagepath/image.jpg]" width="300" border="0" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 5px 5px 0px"

Re: WAB link banner

I have also added the WAB clickable banner to my links page now, after reading the External links thread by Stuart.External Links It made me realise I was getting a lot of hits via WAB, and I wanted to try and help direct a bit of traffic WABs way. I thought the banner was more noticeable than the existing link.
