| | | Problems Uploading Photos Could someone out there please put this poor frustrated uploader out of his misery and inform me in really simple terms how to resize images in Photoshop CS2 suitable for the Gallery. I have already placed several photos there, more by pure luck than anything else but am fed up getting the following messages, either singly or together, which is really frustrating as the message tells me that my file is too big and the image too small?????????
The file that you have tried to attach is too big. The maximum size is 520000 bytes.
Your image is too small. The minimum dimensions for this type of image in this category are 800 x 600.
I am pretty sure that I am not the only frustrated poster out there, so could someone please help |

| | | Re: Gallery Assistance re Photo Upload First you need to get the image up the editing screen.
Click "image" in the top bar and choose "resize" > "image size" from the drop-down menu.
In the table which now appears change "Resolution" to 72 (in the Document Size section of the table) and then change "width" and "height" (in the Pixel dimensions section). I usually set the width to 800 - that usually works okay.
Click "OK"
Then save the file as a JPEG.
When the "JPG Options" table appears slide the "Image Quality" bar along until the size (at bottom of table) is what you need. I usually aim for 150-200K
Click "Save"
Hope this all makes sense

| | | Re: Gallery Assistance re Photo Upload Hi ron - there are plenty different ways to resize, but the way I do it in Photoshop CS is as follows:
IMPORTANT
I've got a seperate folder for images to upload to WAB, and the images there are saved under seperate name e.g hawthorn-2.jpg (or whatever!) so I still have the original at full size and no conflict of different size images with the same name.
1. Image size.
Open image - image - image size
Resize so your WIDTH is minimum 800 pixels (for 'gallery' images, 'unidentified' can be smaller)
Make sure that the 'constrain proportions' box is ticked!
2. File size.
You've got your re-sized image still open - file- save for web. (Otherwise known as 'Web Optimisation')
The screen below opens, peer closely and you will see on the right a box with 'JPEG' and below it the setting 'medium'
Bottom left of the screen you will see 'JPEG' and below it 73.79 kb - this is your FILE size.
You will get a better quality image if you adjust the setting to high, and the file size bottom left will alter to show you what it has increased to.......can't remember what the max file size is for WAB but this way you can stay within in it.
I then save the optimised images in a folder within my WAB folder to upload from.
Hope this helps, and I haven't confused you totally!
Good luck

| | | Re: Problems Uploading Photos Thanks very much DaiTheDragon and JennyS. I tried what you suggested and it worked first time. I was getting so frustrated that the computer almost went out the window. Cheers | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
