| | | Auto complete titles Hi all,
Well since my hard-drive packed up last week (got a new one since) before when I loaded up my pics the descriptions were kept and now they're not? Any idea why? I have to type in the same things over and over again and I'm not sure how to rectify this
Thanks! |

Is it the uploading to WAB where you have multiple pictures you are having trouble with or something else

Right, so I want to upload a pic... I go to upload, select browse, select my pic and add it, no probs. Then I move down the page to Image Title - this is where the problem starts as when I type stuff in there (which I repeat on another image of the same bird for instance) the box doesn't save what I put in before on the last upload eg. Robin - Erithacus rubecula - it's blank!
Before my pc crashed and died, when I put something in the Image Title it would show a drop down of all the previous titles I had put in there, and now it doesn't save anything at all. Now do you get what I mean Is it something to do with cookies or something? |

Unfortunately whenever I've done any uploads the previous titles have never come up anyway
I suspect it is an internet explorer (if you are using IE that is) setting about remembering what you have previously typed but I cannot say I know where the setting is, however the browser help may point you in the right direction.

Yep, I've got IE7 (which I had before it crashed btw). Spose I'll have to go track down an elusive setting then lol!
Thanks for your help DoY |

It may be a better way to write up all of the information to the image in the individual images "Comments" or "Notes" feature / option in your computer browser.
OK, so I do all of my imaging on Mac computers. If I highlight an image on my desktop I can see all of the relevant information pertaining to that image. I can then go into the image info file and then write up all of the data I want which then stays with that file when I transfer to other hard drives etc.
Maybe right mouse click on an image, sorry it's been so long since I worked on PC's, and see if there is an option that allows you to write your notes etc. |

| | | Re: Help with something silly please! Hi Cazzie,
Are you writing your image comments directly to the Comments option for the Image? I'm sorry if I sound vague as I use Mac computers for all of my imaging etc. Its been a long time since I used a PC.
With Mac's I just have to select an image, write all of the relevant information to the accompanying 'Comments' box of the image and that info then stays with the image when I transfer to other Hard Drives etc. Maybe you added text whilst in a photoshop or imaging programme that wasn't recognised or allowed by the image format or security setting.
Just a thought. Again forgive my possible misunderstanding of your situation.
Cheers,

| | | Re: Help with something silly please! i might be reading this wrong but i thought cazzie was talking about info put into the wab upload form - if she is then adding text to the individual image comments option wont help.
course i could be way off base here

| | | Re: Help with something silly please! that one escapes me as there's no mention of any intention to uploade images to any given site. I thought she was just having problems uploading to her hard drive and allocating relevant notes to each image in their respective comments profile.

Make sure the three options are ticked. |

. | i think its fairly clear from her post that she is uploading to wab - amonst other things you dont generally select "browse" to upload an image to a hard drive - still I'm not looking for an argument here and as i said if i'm off base then your suggestion would be helpful Quote:

also I'd just mention that if you are having problems like this you can take a screen shot of the screen concerned by pressing the "alt" and "print screen" keys - this is put on the clipboard and can then be pasted into a photo editor saved and uploaded to show everybody exactly what you are talking about (this is the procedure for windows - it may be different on mac/linux etc)

Thanks for you advice guys, and I think Graham has hit the nail on the head with what I'm trying to do! I'll change the settings in a bit and let you know if it's fixed the problem |

Duke of York - If you do what glsammy suggested then you can save all your info and won't have to re-type it all back in (guess I'm just lazy lol! )
and thanks to everyone else who tried to help me out too - much appreciated! | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
