| | | It's the BEMAs today! It's the British Environment Media Awards this evening and so we're off to London to see if we can pick up the prize for the best of breed in the New Media category.
However, regardless of how Wild About Britain does today, I know that Stuart already feels that we're winners - to get this far in 18 months, against some really big competition, is a huge achievement in itself.
While Stu started this whole thing off, we know that it's thanks to all of the members that Wild About Britain has become such a great success and it's just getting better every day.
So with a real big 'Thank you' from me, fingers crossed and let's see if we can get us our first award

It is hard to get a forum like this up and running but to do so effectively, and at the same time to have such a bunch of fabulous friendly members, is testament to how well this forum is being looked after by all concerned.

You as much as anybody have had a great imput into WAB and you were one of the earliest members who had the foresight to see what a great site this would become. I think a big THANK YOU to all those early members who have worked quietly in the background making WAB what it is today.

| | | Re: It's the BEMAs today! I agree with all that has been said above about WAB, especially about the early members who worked and still are working in the background.
I have been a member of many forums (and still am a member of some) for many years. I have been a member of WAB for a month now, give or take a few days and I can say in total honesty that I have never been on a more friendly forum. Everyone has time for each other here and the attitude is superb. From day one I was made to feel at home and as though I was a valued member of this forum.
Long live WAB, and I am sure if we continue as we are WAB will achieve even dizzier heights. Best of luck for the awards, but with or without an award WAB will always be a special place to be for me.

| | Re: It's the BEMAs today! I have to say that as a relatively new member, I'm very disappointed with WAB. Very disappointed at not finding it sooner that is! I'm becomming rather addicted in fact, and I love it. My reference books don't know what's hit them - dust blown off and rearing to go!
So best of luck in the awards for everyone, especially Stuart. Fingers crossed. |

As a new member, I realise how hard so many people have worked to get this site as established as it is today. Its a growing community, and gives alot of people, alot of pleasure!
Well done everybody!

| | | Re: It's the BEMAs today! When ever the announcement is, let's all hope that WAB is a winner tonight.
That would be independent recognition of those who keep this site going behind the scenes through their hard work .... and of the rest of us for our contributions to the forum and galleries. It would be richly deserved.
If we don't win an award, let's not be down-hearted. Lets carry on making WAB what it is and make sure we win next time!

Glad you are still with us. Thought Stuart might have contacted somebody to give out the news of the awards. Still I expect it was a very late night for him.

1) Stuart is sitting there kicking his machine
or
2) He's sitting there pouring champagne into it!
BEMA haven't updated their website yet.
Still with fingers crossed.
