| | | Animal Trust I have always loved animals more so than humans , what I find is they sense that trust really well not just pets but wild animals as well. I rescued a swan and although it was always nasty to others it used to sit with me for hours like a pet dog. I also find that birds seem to trust me which always helps with that close up image and foxes regularly visit my garden.
When I walk through a reserve I tend to stand for 30 mins in the same place and most of the wildlife just carry on as if I were not there, until someone walks past and spooks them.
The only exception was a Stag during the rutting season decided he was going to charge me and luckily for me he got caught up in a large wire fence otherwise I would have needed to jump in the lake camera gear and all to get away from him.
Do others sense this trust in animals/birds especially on first meeting.

| | | Re: Animal Trust A month ago I went to Titchwell and as always parked beside the Car Park Payment machine. I had hardly got out of the car when along came a Chaffinch and almost sat up and begged for food. I put some on the ground (always have some in the car for my feeding station in the wood) and while I was doing this a Robin came and wanted the food in my hand. It had taken a couple of beakfulls when a second Robin saw the first one off so that it could then perch on my hand and eat. I know that Robins and Chaffinches are rather tame but three birds within a minute was going it.

I started to tick along with it and it came right into the hide. Went down onto the floor looking for spiders. When I suggested that it ought to go, in case it got locked in the hide, it came up straight away onto the ledge, then flew out of the flap opening. I at that time was not aware of WAB let alone be a gallery editor, Sir.
