AOL and IE seem to be minutes behind on posts with WAB this afternoon.

And I cant log in using Firefox

I'm also finding that the post counts are an hour behind, so a thread in forum display is not showing the latest posts.

This isn't my end or indeed my ISPs end, as all other sites are working fine.

Yep there is a big gremlin in the works tonight I think.

I have to keep refreshing to add the new posts, despite it showing another has been added

On AOL the last post in Recent Outdoor Activity Posts is on the Plant Growing thread at 4.33 p.m?

It should be OK again now...it was probably due to me upgrading some of the rest of the site and it messed about with the forum connections

AOl is still struggling. Shows last post as 5.00 p.m.

yep - the problem i was experiencing with logging in has gone away - i notice you've changed the front page to the new design ... looking good

For me it looks like a problem with this PC as it is fine on AOL on my laptop.

I loaded some stupid Window One Care Program and have had problems since

I am currently using IE7. The site continues to be slow and took ages just to open this 'Post Reply' window. Before this, I looked at 'Unfamilar poses' and eventually got the window without full colour and with lost of underlining.

I have also been using Firefox but have given that up as it would not allow me to browse when trying to upload pictures, aand kept timing me out. I have now uninstalled Firefox. I had to have three goes at uploading the thread on great crested grebe courtship

It might be my PC as I am being bombarded with Driveclean, Debt repayment, Norwich Union and other sites. Probably my PC needs a health check. We have a new PC service that just opened up in the village so I shall probably see them on Tuesday.

I use a G5 Mac together with Firefox, and the forums are not refreshing .... for instance the last post showing in the Insect Forum is one I made at 2.30 this afternoon!

I have the same problem as jez but on a pc using Firefox. I have to hit refresh on every thread to get the latest posts.

Even refresh doesn't update the posts for me ....

I am not experiencing any of these problems on my laptop. I have system restored back to yesterday on my home PC and the problem persists.

My WAB front page is stuck at 5.01 p.m. and I am experiencing many of the problems you guys describe but none on this laptop.

I will give it til tomorrow than I will boot from CD and start again on my other PC

theres still something funny going on with the site tonight - the recet posts column isnt updating properly - for instance I put the last post in the "dust in my lens" thread but this is still showing as last post by boddie 9.29 which is the one before mine - if i click on this thread it then shows mine as the last post , but doesnt show mypost on the grey squirells.

if i click on the grey squirells thread my post doesnt show up at all , but if i enter via members cp it does

all a bit odd , but i guess things will settle down in a day or two

btw: none of this is intended to be a criticism of the site or of the admin team , who do a fantastic job, gratis , I just though it might be useful to them to highlight the ongoing weirdness

edit: actually that's not quite right - my post on dust in the lens was before boddies 9.29 one , but i can't see his at all with my view still showing my post as the last when the thread is open

edit 2: but i can see his post if i go to view all posts by boddie in his profile - bizare

I'm getting the same problem with showing the last posts.Also I have been able to post on a couple of threads but i couldn't on another,just kept throwing me back to the log-on page?

yep, there are definitely some gremlins at work tonight. The latest posts column is not updating but even when it does, clicking on the actual posts typically doesn't show the latest post.

this always happens when there is work on the site ongoing - I guess we just have to roll with it as a little inconvenience is well worth putting up with while the site is being developed, after all a lot of sites take their servers down entirely while work is ongoing

btw i have just discovered that if i click refresh it brings everything into line - but I have to click it , it doesnt work if the page refreshes automatically when i change pages

i'm going to knock off for the night me thinks - hopefully all will be back in buisness in the morning (only better )

After a refresh or "F5" I get a white page for a while with no egg-timer then eventually the page builds. I think it is the server being heavily loaded this evening.

i have tried posting a couple of things, successfully i thought, seen them and some posts after mine come up, then when i go to read the new posts, my post's disappeared along with the ones following it? i've tried refreshing the page, but its like my computer doesn't want to register them? is anyone else still struggling with this?

I thought it was someone editing their message...and I'm watching i-robot at the moment...will our pc's rise up against us because of the poor quality of our messages

yep, there appears to be something wrong with the way threads and posts are being cached, refreshed and displayed. All the posts are going in, but they're not showing unles you hard refresh the page (shift + refresh)

I'm running a few scripts to try and clear it, but that means the loads on the server will be a bit high and slow down the site for a while as well

Hopefully got it sorted with the recent cache rebuilds and everything works great for me now, but everyone will need to clear their browser's cookies to refresh everything on your own PC

Spoke too soon ...not quite sorted out yet . Still getting a few posts not showing in recent posts or appearing in this thread unless it's refreshed.
