Stuart, noticed a new Sounds gallery and wondered how to post sounds.

Hi Winnie,

I've added the sound gallery, but still not sure about the best way to format the sounds for posting on the site. It should be possible to upload all types of formats mpeg, mp3 etc, but I guess it'll just be a bit of a trial at first until we see what works best...we can always re-format later.

So, if you've got sounds, feel free to upload them to the sound gallery. Anything under 2MB at the moment, but obviously smaller would be better. Where possible, if you can add a description then that would be great. Failing that, we can always have a go at ID'ing the sounds ourselves.

Just uploaded an Mp3 file, was originally in WAV format, converted it to MP3 to save space. Sounds just as good to me.

I suspect that MP3 will be the best format and it should be easy enough for everyone to be able to convert sound files to it, but we might have to put together a brief 'How to...'

Glad you like it. Wish I'd done more now! (I will in future.) MP3 seem the obvious way to go, the original WAV file was over 3MB in size, reduced to 88KB in MP3.
