| | | Why Why Why I have a problem with my PC I think.
It seems to be a problem with recognising JPEG.
For example, I cant see images in forum posts, only the URL.
And on my desktop, if I put a JPEG on it it comes up with the icon for unrecognised file
See my screenshot
If I click on the icon, the JPEG opens but there does not seem to be a program associated with the file type
What can I do? |

What can I do? | Try a right mouse click on a jpeg, you might get a menu that has 'Open With....@ as an option. Click this and then click 'Open With' and then 'Choose Program' and choose the programme you want and check 'Always use this program to open files of this type' and complete.
If this fails at any of the steps I can't advise further! Sorry.

Nice one | Makes me wish I was still at work so I could tell the computer guys that I'd helped someone with a Windows problem!
(Mind you I did once have to talk someone from English Nature through how to view a file - the conversation started something like:
Me: 'First open Windows Explorer' Him 'What's Windows Explorer?')
Glad it worked.

| | | Re: Why Why Why If you want to go a stage further, look at the folder options (found under tools whilst viewing any folder/directory). Here also you can change the default application. You can also change the icon if you wish. |
