History........

I've been a member of this site for about a month now and think it's great, I've learnt a lot and it has definately got me looking at things in my garden in different ways
I just wondered, just out of interest, how long this site's been going for and how it all came about? Sorry if this has already been discussed before, I must have missed it

ive been here for about a year - not being in at the inception. I think wab is about two maybe a little bit older.

its all stus idea - when I asked him why he said "because it was something he always wanted to do" and fairplay to him I say - what a great thing to do , at your own expense and with your spare time - loads of other people have helped along the way of course , I'm not going to try and name them cos i'll mis some and dont want to upset anyone.

a number of members seem to have been here since gods dog was a puppy so I'm sure one of them will be along to give chapter and verse

Re: History........

If you look at the list of members and click on Join Date, it shows that Stu started this all on 25/8/2004. He's got a lot to answer for, completely changed my life, the blighter! Plus cost me a small fortune in camera equipment. Without WAB I doubt I'd have ever bothered to go the DSLR route.
I didn't join until October 2005, so I'm just a novice, still learning my way around.

Re: History........

claire, if you look for a thread from last august(06) entitled "wabs 2nd birthday" or possibly just "two today" i cant remember exactly, that really does have chapter and verse including a big post from stu - it was either in the tree house or the wildabout britain website forums

by the way sir graham sole knight of the wild order if you're a novice that'd make me a foetus

Cheers, I can't actually find that thread - must be looking in the wrong place (I have been up since a very un-Godly hour this morning!) but thanks for the info anyway!
And if you're a foetus, does that make me a twinkle in someone's eye?!

Re: History........

If you look in the 'Hello' section for the sticky thread right at the top called 'Hello from StuDH' you will find Stuart's 'introduction' that I think Eeyore may be referring to...

that isnt what i was actually talking about but it'll do , alternatively assuming it hasnt been deleted you should find the one i meant if you use the advanced search to look for posts on 25/8/06
