After the success of the 2007 WAB calendar we plan to produce an even bigger and better calendar for 2008. After much discussion in the 2008 Calendar discussion thread it was agreed that we will invite images to be submitted to this thread TOWARDS THE END OF THE SUMMER. At the moment then, this post is closed and simply provides advanced notice of our requirements.
Here are the rules:
(1). WAB members will be able to submit
a maximum of 3 images for consideration for the WAB calendar .
At the moment, the precise mechanism for the submission of images is still being discussed. We may simply ask for them to be included within this thread (by copying the BB code from below each image) but alternatives are being considered. This will be clarified nearer the time.
(2). We have to find suitable images to cover 12 months of the year, obviously reflecting all seasons. We can't use Summer shots in Winter and vice versa. So try to find shots that reflect different seasons (presumably Winter shots are going to be less plentiful than Summer shots). It is likely that the calendar will again include many smaller images so we will require far more than 12 images.
(3). You must have a high resolution version (at least 4.3MP) of any images that you include.
(4). The final images will be chosen by a panel consisting of Stu and the trustees, in conjunction with the advice of the printers and perhaps even marketing consultants.
(5). If we ask for images to be submitted to this thread, this thread must be for IMAGES only and there should be no chat or discussion, otherwise the thread is likely to get out of hand.
(6). All images should be in the landscape format.
(7). Images should generally be sharp and well exposed. They also need to have some visual appeal (highly subjective I know

) if people are to want to display them on their walls. That said, they do not have to be professional standard and we will welcome submissions from as many WAB members as possible. In terms of subject matter, images can include landscapes, birds, wildflowers, insects, fungi and so on, basically any subject matter that you would find in the WAB galleries.
Remember, at this stage this thread is simply providing advanced notification and is closed. You can bear these requirements in mind when out taking photographs this spring and summer.

Obviously, we will announce when this thread is opened.
Any comments about these requirements or about the calendar in general can be made on the WAB Calendar discussion thread here;
