in conjunction with suitable images I do not envy you the task

| | | Re: WAB 2008 Calendar Discussions Thats a good idea mate. We should run it by Stu and the trustees.
I am hoping people will give great thought to the calendar this year.
Last year we had a lack of wild flowers to choose from, for example. Had we had a decent wild flower image it would have been just about guaranteed for inclusion in the calendar. |

| | | Re: WAB 2008 Calendar Discussions What about the Front cover? It is likely a portrait format image would be required and a landscape cropped to portrait image isn't likely to be of a high enough quality. When should we post the portrait images?
ps I will be offering up some of my images but not until much later in the spring. You never know what image you will take tomorrow |

| | | Re: WAB 2008 Calendar Discussions We're thinking that the 2008 calendar might take a landscape format to fold out with images on the top (above the ringbind) and the calendar below. Lots of options to play with, but we're probably going to include some form of sponsorship on each page to raise a lot more money next year.
The poetry could also be a good option to add a little something extra |

| | | Re: WAB 2008 Calendar Discussions Just a thought, if there was room. Could you say when the flower in the picture is in bloom as in best time of year to view it, or if it is a picture of a living creature, when the best time of year it is to see them. Plus if it is something that is endangered give some figures of how many are left in this country. Hope it is ok to post this here. |

If you take a perla, then submit it, but as for submitting maybe 3 a month, well I dont think that is on.
Surely thats part of the fun? |

Fact is that everyone that owns a camera can, in essence, take part in this but should not be dissuaded by people submitting 3 images a month. You submit your 3 of choice then thats it. If you decide to do that in April, then thats your choice. If you choose your best three in August then thats also your choice. |

As FungiJohn commented earlier being able to update your initial selection of 3 images for improved or better images would also help raise the standard of the photography and of the final images that WAB can chose from |

I'll follow whatever rules are applied but the longer term impact of the rules also needed to be considered. |

| | | Re: WAB 2008 Calendar Discussions I can see Kevs point.
If we submit three now, in early April, we've then lost any chance of putting that killer shot in we will take in August. Provided at the end of the day we've only selected three in total, surely that's to the benefit of WAB? Otherwise we might just as well wait until the last moment to submit any. |
