Might be too late to start putting in sand now though. I'd leave it until the late autumn I think. |

You probably don't even need to cover the whole bottom of the shallow area - just pile some up wherever you want to plant. It will get covered with dead leaves/silt/algae/plant growth soon enough anyway. |

| | | Re: Plants for shallow end of pond Hi I did a bit of creative placing of the sand, as King Edward said dont need to cover whole of shallow end and i didnt, looks pretty nice imo, just need a days worth of good rain to finish filling the pond now
