| | | Re: Ice on Ponds First proper ice on the ponds here as well - 3 main ponds all completely frozen overnight, but mostly melted during the day. No ice on 2 smaller ponds though, which are overhung by trees. |

| | | Re: Ice on Ponds I had ice on Saturday morning here in Maidstone, about 5mm thick, complete coverage on two of my ponds and partial on the others which melted later on in the day. Not seen any pondlife for a couple of weeks now

| | | Re: Ice on Ponds Haven't gone out but i can see ice sheets (about 5 pieces floating on top) of our pond here in Sittingbourne, Kent. It is shadowed by our shed and surrounded by wildflowers and grass as well as wood pieces and some rocks. I know my cousin accidentily tipped some seawater in there but my common frogs seem to like the pond so it must have been washed out or not so much to disturb their liking. We have no fountain or anything; the size of the pond is about 1.8m x 50cm and probably less than 30 cm deepest. It's zero degrees but no snow here with frost covering pretty much everything.

| | | Re: Ice on Ponds No ice despite a very hard frost, it has brought a lot of leaves down though
and they are being washed into the pond.

| | | Re: Ice on Ponds I had ice on all my ponds last Friday, Saturday and again today. On Saturday all except Patio Pond had complete coverage which was too thick to push a finger through. The floating tennis balls were frozen in place so they weren't any help..
