Hyrda Species UK
Found a hydra whilst pond dipping - just wondered how many species occur in the UK and how possible it is to identify the different species? I'll try and get a photo of my hydra up on here as well.

Had a look and apparently there are 3 types: green hydra (large and green 20mm), brown hydra (brown and 25mm) and slender hydra (15mm long).

Would have thought that there were more than just three species, but then I always expect there to be loads of almost identical invertebrates.

Which species do you think?
