| | | Re: Pond plant id plz Hi thx for replies, seems like it is ivy leaved crowsfoot as has already been covered on this site in the past.
Would this plant make a good addition to my pond do you think or not? NB i pulled it out of the pond today and i have not introduced it.
Thx Rob

| | | Re: Pond plant id plz It's definitely a Water Crowfoot species, but I'm not certain which one. The leaf shape doesn't look right for Ivy-leaved (Ranunculus hederaceus) though. One thing to check is whether it has filamentous submerged leaves in addition to the flat leaf type shown in the photo - some species have both types, others only one or the other.
Either way, in the pond this would be best in a very shallow muddy marginal area, where it can root and grow down to deeper water if it wants to. Ideally it would like damp mud around the margin that dries out somewhat in summer and is submerged over winter, rather than being permanently submerged. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
