| | | Hawker dragonfly nymph for ID Hi guys. Not got access to my dragonfly nymph book and would like an ID on this nymph. I suspect its migrant or possibly southern hawker but not sure. |

| | | Re: Hawker dragonfly nymph for ID How big is it? According to my larvae and exuviae book, final instar of Migrant is no bigger than 38mm, whereas Southern would be 38-48mm in the final instar.
It looks good for either, so size would be the clincher. Without knowing size, I'd go for Southern, mainly on head shape, but I could be wrong, I'm not familiar with the larvae of either species.
Regards, Audrey. |
