Mystery Sponge Like Object.
Can anyone identify this for me please? The photograph was taken in May 1988 in Lathkill Dale.



It's part of my long term programme of digitising my slide collection, approximately 10,000 of them.

Are you sure it's organic? Molten asphalt or tar looks like that when it gets into cold water. It looks fairly heavy as it isn't being washed away in the current.

Looks a bit like animal poo too, but it would be lighter and float around wouldn't it?
