I just pull mine up if it gets out of hand then have to throw more in lol
It helps take out nutrients in the water so algae don't get out of hand.

my watercress is growing rapidly and after a few months i went to the pond (yesterday) to release a damselfly nymph which had gotten in my fishtank i saw it had nearlly covered the shallows but i will just leave it until next year for now.
