Late for mayflies hatching?

This popped up in front of me this morning and I'm assuming it's just a mayfly that hatched. But then I wondered if it isn't rather late for mayflies - in the south I mean, because I think in Scotland they last right through summer?

Some species of mayfly are active during the winter. The name is misleading as they are not restricted to being a summer insect.
