Why are wasps visiting ponds this time of year ?

Hey people im just wondering, why are wasp visiting ponds more than they normaly do, this time of year?

They need to cool down too

When it gets warmer, they cool down by drinking water and letting it evaporate off their bodies

If they are building their nest then they would need to mix wood pulp and water in their mouth to form the building material.

You will notice them more as the season progresses simply because there will be more of them about.

that happened to me as well.my frog ate a wasp . i think its due to the nest being overheated and they're coming to drink or collect water to cool their nest.

The wasps take water back to the nest and waft it round with their wings creating air-conditioning round the nest to keep it cool..
