Hi all
I started a pond about 3 months ago with little know-how or experience... It's a typical garden centre black shell probably about 6-8 ft long and 3 ft wide and 2 deep. I added in some fish initially and had a pump putting circulating water around the pond. Over the summer it started to get murky and eventually green so I have installed a hozelock easy clean filter and pump and taken out the old pump. Within 2 days the water is crystal clear and looking beautiful.
Now that I can see the bottom of the pond I've added in some large rocks to make the pond look a little more interesting and make it a more fun for the fish - is this ok? They seem to be enjoying exploring and I'm guessing stimulation is good?
My question really is, can I put the old pump into the pond as well to circulate the water more? I guess I want to try to take the water from one side of the pond (where the rocks are) and feed it to the other side where the filter is (thus getting more coverage). Does it work like this, or will all the water pump through the filter ok?
Sorry if this sounds like a silly question!
