There have been many questioned about crayfish on here and much good advice given.
Further to N0z's post, I'm guessing you live some where in the NW as you asked about the Hyde area, there are other species of crayfish at large in our waters. For example the Turkish narrow-clawed and our own native and threatened White-clawed crayfish (the other name used for this species is the Atlantic stream crayfish). The NW holds a significant population of the legally protected White-clawed crayfish and depending where you look you in the NW you might find them. Signal crayfish can be found in most of the waters in south Lancs, Gt Manchester and Cheshire.

also all waters fishing rights are owned so permission in whatever form to take Signal crayfish will be required.
