I think these are probably also snail eggs. They seem quite advanced, so perhaps with a lens you could see the developing young inside. |

^ You surprise me. I observed last year's snail eggs develop and they were black and looked quite different (as my two posted pics). However, you may both be right. Thanks

I think the top picture is the eggs just after spawning and the second picture is the eggs developing into small pond snails |

The translucent spheres in the first photo would be the individual eggs, encased in jelly, while in the second I assume the dark objects are the developing shells. |

Yes, it's pretty clear that my second pic shows the shells developing with the snail body, all within the jelly strip.
However, I'm still not convinced about my first pic being snails. Even the jelly sac is a different shape and it looks milky. I'm keeping a twice daily look on further development and will report. I'm not so proud that I won't admit to being wrong .
