Buying Pond Plants In Northamptonshire.

Hi All,

Well, as I've seen a fair number of members on these forums from Northamptonshire I thought I'd get some advice.

I've recently setup a small pond, and already have a few oxgenators and a couple of other plants from a local garden centre (Poddington).

I'm trying to keep the pond relatively "Native" but I have allowed for a few exotics (which will be destroyed carefully if the need arises).

I'm looking for suggestions on a good supplier of Native Pond plants in Northamptonshire. I'm not adverse to buying online, however I generally prefer to purchase what I can see. Any suggestions gratefully accepted, should they have a website too, then even better

On my current "Hit List" are:

Creeping Jenny (Lysimachia Nummularia)
Water Soldier (Stratiotes Aloides)
Hairgrass (Eleocharis Acicularis)
Starwort (Callitriche)

I'm aware that the Starwort can become rampant but advice seems to be that it's easily maintained too.

Im new here and been looking around

Not sure if its any help , but i just made a very new wild 'pond' in my garden ( mainly for the birds to bathe), and found it grew into a great hobby

Welcome to WAB.

Many thanks for your suggestion I've added it to my list of online retailers. Unfortunately I was wanting to pick them up personally, as having just established a pond I wanted to heck what I was putting in. I found a garden centre nearby with a reasonable selection that has got the pond up and running, over the coming years I hope to expand the pond, as well as incorporating only UK native species, so this site will help then.

Here are a few not too far from me I use the A5 pond center not sure what its called but its not far from the little chef roundabout from MK towards Towcester..
