jelly like egg clusters
Hi,These egg clusters are about 2cm long by .5cm wide with small black specs.They are under lily leaves & other floating plants. Could they be newt eggs?

hi,

they are most likely snail eggs as newt larvae will have hatched by now newts will breed in late march and throughout april.

If they look like this they're pond snail eggs:





Newts lay eggs singly, usually wrapping in a folded leaf.
