| | | Bog plants...same type you would use in the ponds? Im thinking of placing a boggy area, near the exit of my pond. To make it look more easy on the eye,I would like to plant it up!
will it need oxygenators?( Doubt it,but thought I would check)
I have...water cress, marsh marigold, iris, gerum rivale and floating heart, and hippuris vulgaris. Thanks folks...By the way,do you reckon planting a cat litter tray would do,instead of buying liner? |

I'd have thought a cat litter tray would be a bit small for a bog garden and since it's so small it wouldn't retain that much moisture in the soil. You don't need a proper pond liner - you should be able to find some heavy duty plastic sheeting or something quite cheaply. It's often recommended to put some holes in the liner anyway to allow for some drainage.
Floating Heart (Nymphoides peltata) and Mare's Tail are water plants, so wouldn't do in the bog. 'Oxygenators' likewise should stay in the pond. Watercress might grow if it's very wet, but again it's probably better in the pond (no harm in trying a spare bit in the bog). The other plants you mention should be OK. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
