| | | Mystery Pond life. Hi all, I visited Minsmere RSPB reserve at the weekend and got chatting to a lady who was running a pond dipping session for Kids and she showed me these creatures that she could not identify, anyone know what they are.

| | | Re: Mystery Pond life. Ah we had these at work last year and never 100% worked out what they were. We decided some sort of midge larva was most likely as they didn't quite look right for caddisfly. Hopefully someone can give a more accurate ID |

| | | Re: Mystery Pond life. It doesn't look like a Caddis larva. I agree with Ukwildlifeo that it looks like some kind of case-building fly larva (Diptera, probably a Chironomid midge). |
