Pond bugs for ID
Spotted these hanging around my pond. really, really tiny 'bout a millimetre in size. They were just above the waterline & jumped like a flea when touched.

Any ideas?

The good thing about sitting on the fence is that you get a good view of both sides.

Sound like springtails, habitat is good too. You will need a much closer image to be sure though and take it to genus/species .

Cheers Dogghound, I couldn't have got any closer with out dipping my head in the pond! I only have a mobile phone camera. I'm ok with just springtails .

Looks like the same springtail species that keep turning up in the ponds at work, based purely on the colour though! Also I haven't got round to getting a photo or ID of them yet.
