| | | Is there such a thing as a Fresh Water Slug? I saw this creature in slow moving fairly deep water in Radipole RSPB site. It looks like an upside down snail but I couldn't see any shell. It was on some brown floating stuff, of which there is a lot at the moment, and appeared to be using it as a raft to get across to another patch. It looked like it was propelling itself as it was going across the direction of the current. It was about an inch and a quarter in length.
I also made a small video of it which is on youtube in desiderata14.

| | | Re: Is there such a thing as a Fresh Water Slug? Its a greater pond snail. They often slide across the surface, usually when oxygen is low in the water, as they can get air form the surface - rather clever that they can breathe air and water! |
