ok so i have mentioned my water bodies a few times and not shared an image so the recent instillation of a new margin to each side can be seen here From the Garden Shed

there is a lot of male frogs currently in the deep pool awaiting some company and in the mean time practising their grip on the carp, much to the scavengers delight when they get feed them, the carp that is not the frogs

still no spawning activity but there is easily over 50 frogs in the main pool and possibly 10 in the shallower one.

Looks very much like the holding pens you see in images of frog farms,

I'm holding onto the hope that there is actually something hiding in the bottom of my pond due to the fact that there were bubbles rising from somewhere today.

Although I'd be happy with to see an insect in it at the moment never mind anything else!

due to the gravel filter bed being more successful than anticipated its gin clear the water so can easily see down into the 3-4ft depths after dark with the help of a torch

ill stick a torch on charge and see what tonight brings lol, to much glare in day light to do it justice

seems two females have arrived, they each have at least 4 males hanging off them.

slightly annoying though is the neighbour has decided to once again heat his green house with a log burner, so its back to covering the ponds surface with ash
