I photographed this nearby last summer on Himalayan Balsam which they seem to love.

No this is a male Beautiful Demoiselle, these wont breed in your pond. They require rivers with a gravel bottom.

....Ah, thanks - That explains why, because the HB is on the banks of my nearby chalk river with mostly gravelly bottom.

I mistakenly thought that Demoiselles and Damselflies were the same.
